Counting the days until Spring...

It used to be that I counted the days until Spring because it meant riding weather and, if I was lucky, time to pick up a new bike. Now I also look forward to Spring because it's time to photograph a whole new batch of bikes (and cars) as they come out of hibernation. It may be my favorite time of the year...

RTZ at the Garden 11/22/91

OK, so I am on a roll with this video blast from the past. This is a bit jumpy but considering how crazy it got down in the photo-pit when this song started it came out pretty good. Not bad for a tape more than 17 years old...
It seemed like everybody wanted to be as close as they could get when they heard the first few notes of the song. I can't say that I blame them... it was one of the highlights of the night.
There is a second video below from the same night - "When Your Love Comes Back Around."

RTZ - WBCN Rock of Boston. 11/22/91

There are days like this that I am glad that I don't throw anything away...
After seeing, and hearing, Tim and the boys playing recently I decided to go
looking for some video that I had shot while photographing RTZ back in 1991
when they were playing at the Garden.
Thought that I would share what I had come up with. It was a great night and
one that I will never forget as I got to hear some amazing music and Brad Delp's vocals - there are none better.
Also, that was that night that Tim arranged to have himself "arrested" in the dressing room by Boston Police minutes before show time, but thats another story...

Small World

There are some things in life that a person never forgets, first crush, first car, first...well, I think you know what I mean.
One of the "firsts" I will never forget is the first time that I heard Tim Archibald play bass over 25 years ago.
It was amazing and like nothing I had ever heard before. This summer I had the pleasure to cross paths with Tim again as part of Ernie and the Automatics playing the Boston for Africa/Rock Ride fundraiser at the Pavilion in Boston. It was like old times hearing Tim play while photographing the band.
It was a true blast from the past and I loved every minute of it. So much in fact that I have become hooked on their music and catch the Automatics whenever I can.
Great music, amazing musicians and a trip back to the good old days at Bunrattys, Jacks, and the Channel. It just may be true, Good Times Never End...
